Hi! That’s me in the picture right over there. —->
My name is Desiree Dyer. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guess you’ve found me because you need help bringing some order and organization to your home and (perhaps) your life.
Well, dude, you’re in luck because I’m going to do SO MUCH MORE than that. We’re talking CREATING a LIFE of JOY. I hope that sounds good to you because it’s exactly where I’m gonna take you when we work together.
I’ve been a Professional Home Organizer for three years.
My absolute FAVE part of my job is hearing the stories my clients tell about how their lives came to disarray and the transformations they envision taking shape.
Don’t think you have a story to tell or a transformation in mind?
You’ll surprise yourself. I promise.
There is one thing you’ll need to understand about me as a Professional Home Organizer and Tidying Consultant.
I was NOT always organized (gasp!).
When meeting clients, I often explain how my Mom (hi Trudy!) thinks it is hilarious that this is the work I do in my adult life, because my bedroom as a child was YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE (totes before picture). Shortly after college, I had to admit to myself I was TIRED of feeling like a disorganized mess. I starting learning from websites about living simply, cultivating my personal style (eclectic hygge), and some basic organizing principles (FREE TIP: if you have orphaned tupperware lids, pitch them, if you have orphaned tupperware containers, save them!).
So, I’ve been joyfully organized in all post-college living spaces.
Then, three magical years ago, someone casually suggested I could help others learn to be organized too (wait, what!?). I started finding clients and the rest is history.
Almost immediately after starting Tidy by Desiree, I discovered Marie Kondo’s book, “The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing.”
Through my own experience pursuing a life of living simply, I had an immediate connection to the ideas in her book and began applying her KonMari Method to my own home and teaching it to my husband, Ben, and my stepdaughter (she was only 6 at the time!).
EXCITING UPDATE: While I have already worked with many clients to apply the KonMari Method in their homes and lives, in September 2017 I will travel to New York City to take Marie Kondo’s new training seminar and become an official Certified KonMari Consultant.
Training with the master…HELL.YES.
I will be the ONLY Certified KonMari Consultant within 400 miles of Nashville.
